Psychedelic soundscapes made from obscure cassette tapes
Now on stress.fm - every Monday and Friday at 8pm GMT
These podcasts are made entirely from cassette tapes scrounged from thrift stores, yard sales, basements, boxes on the side of the road, and other such sources. Typically these tapes are new age synthesizer music, nature sounds, Bible stories, guided meditations, children’s audiobooks; that sort of thing. The tapes are then mixed to create a sound collage/sonic mind adventure usually lasting right around 15 minutes. They are pretty lo-fi, but usually meditative and strangely intriguing. No effects are used on the cassettes besides manipulating the tape itself - slowing down, speeding up, playing backwards and EQ.
